Why Lily Beach is the perfect Maldives getaway for your family.
This was our second time visiting the Maldives with a baby. When we were choosing which resort to go to, Lily Beach was one of our top picks. Here are our reasons why Lily Beach resort in the Maldives, is the perfect vacation for you and your little ones.
The airport lounge
Our vacation started great when we were greeted at Malé airport with a representative from Lily Beach. They quickly saw that we were traveling with a 6 month old and a 3 year old so they made sure to get us (and some cold water) in a car on our way to the airport lounge. We absolutely loved the lounge. It was so quiet and there were so many places to relax. We were able to change our kids into some clean clothes and get them fed. There was a big selection of breakfast items available as well as several drinks. There were also many big couches we could relax on and rest a bit. We spent a total of 1,5 hours in the lounge before our seaplane was ready to take us to Lily Beach.
Child friendly
Lily is known to be very child friendly. We were very excited to find out what that exactly meant. Our spacious room could accommodate the 4 of us perfectly. They installed a crib for our youngest and our toddler had a day bed that was quickly transformed in a single bed. At every restaurant there were high chairs available and at the a la carte restaurants (more about that later) there were always plenty of kids options.
Another things that we loved at Lily was the kids club. The kids club is accessible for kids from 3 to 12 years old. They organize different activities every day varying from arts and crafts to games by the pool. Kids are welcome whenever they like during the opening hours. Our daughter joined them looking for sea shells in the morning, and then making a picture frame in the afternoon with the shells she collected. She also joined them for some water games by the pool.
Excursions
We are a family that loves to be active as well on our holidays. Before we had kids, our favorite thing to do was a snorkeling boat trip. With a baby and toddler we were wondering if that would be an option. Luckily for us, at Lily they were extremely accommodating when it came to going on excursions with our little ones. We went on several excursions and on all of them we either took our baby in a carrier or even in the stroller. Lily has so many different excursions, there is bound to be one for everyone’s liking. The excursions we took were:

- Dolphin Safari
- Ocean Adventure
- Turtle Tour
Food
We’ve kept one of the best things for last. The first thing we heard about Lily was that their food was outstanding. And it’s true: the food at Lily beach is amazing. Not only are there buffet restaurants. There are also plenty of a la carte restaurants for both lunch and dinner which are included with your all-inclusive plan. Our toddler loved all the options and so did we! She could happily munch on pizza while we had fresh sushi. We also loved that we could use our mini bar. It was stocked daily with drinks but also snacks like chips, nuts and chocolate!
